August ASB Report (September 2, 2021)
Anthony Sausedo
Senior Class Vice President
02 September 2021
Position Assessment: Thus far in my position, my main job has been to work with my fellow class officers to sell class merchandise at both Pow-Wow and Club Rush. In order to accomplish this, we met over the summer to start our procedure form and create our t-shirt, crewneck, and hoodie designs. We then got tables, chairs, photos of the merchandise, decorations, a cash box, and created a google sheet to successfully complete pre-orders at Pow-Wow and Club Rush. We traded off positions between the 4 officers, having 2 of us run the table at a time. After pre-orders were completed, the officers and I met to create Purchase Orders to order the merchandise ASAP and we finalized the procedure form. All in all, this was a very successful event. I also worked with my officer team to run senior sunrise, which included a tie-dye shirt day at Emma’s house a few days prior to the event. There, we ordered dye and set up tables for the senior class to stop by and dye their own shirts for sunrise on August 11. Before the actual senior sunrise, we purchased beverages, cups, napkins, tablecloths, and donuts for the class to enjoy. This event also ended up being a success, as we had a large turnout. Outside of my immediate position, I helped the ASB team plan the Back to School Dance, assisting with creating a plan and organizing the necessary items needed. Kade and I were in charge of fencing for the event, although it was postponed until September 18. Looking ahead, my class officer team and I will work to publicize merch distributions when they arrive in a couple of weeks, and we will work more towards planning for Homecoming and beyond.
Standing Committee: I am in the Link Crew Standing Committee, as a member. In this committee, we first helped run freshman orientation by getting our groups and calling them to let them know about the event. My Link Crew Group made a poster for our number, and I helped set up the day of orientation. During the event, we walked the kids around campus and talked about things they needed to know before starting high school. On the first day of school, we wore our shirts to help any freshmen who didn’t know where their classes were. Also, I helped out at Back to School Night by directing parents around campus. In the future, we will do more events such as Link Crew Study Buddy Night before semester finals.
Special Committee: I am currently a part of both the Fencing and the Dance Decorations Committees. Both of these committees are involved with the Back to School Dance. I am in charge of fencing, along with Kade. Our job for this committee is to put up the fencing around the dance area so that it is enclosed and prevents students from sneaking in or venturing off during the event. For dance decorations, I helped formulate ideas for decorations, and I will help set them up on the day of the dance.
Mentorship Evaluation/Completion at time of Meeting: My mentorship partner is Gideon, and this is his first year in leadership. As such, I helped him a lot with figuring out how to complete certain tasks in this class. I helped him with organizing his website for his portfolio. Also, I explained the expectations for the journal assignment, and I helped him figure out what papers he needed for the class, since he missed Core Camp. Overall, I’ve been getting to know Gideon more, and helping him out whenever he has questions about anything leadership related.
Concerns: I am concerned about the class relationship as a whole. So far, we have been constrained to only sitting either with our class officer team or mentorship partner, which means that it’s hard to talk to other members of the class in such a short period of time, which is something that concerns me. I do enjoy the mentorship program for its ability to help new students feel prepared and comfortable in the class, but having the same seating charts the entire year will start to feel monotonous.
Positive Comment: I would like to shout out Avery for all of her work in planning the Back to School Dance. She only got a week and a half for this event, and I admire how she was able to make everything work through the obstacles we faced. Although the dance got postponed (which is out of her control) she did an amazing job in organizing everything for the student body.
Change: I would like our class to have either a more flexible seating chart or one that changes more frequently. I feel that in order for our class to bond as a whole, we need to move the seating chart around so that we can talk and connect with different people. If there is still a desire to keep mentorship partners sitting next to each other the entire year, we can have pairs move to different tables together so that the mentorship program is still being utilized to its fullest and we can connect with more members of the class.
My Impact: I have made an impact at Ripon High by helping out many freshmen find where their classes are and sort out any confusion concerning high school. Especially on the first day, several kids asked me for help, and even on days after that I was still able to help out new students on campus, which was nice. I have also made an impact by acting as a support system for my friends during this challenging school year, concerning AP classes and college applications. We are all stressed out, so I have tried my best to alleviate some of that stress.

September/October ASB Report (October 14, 2021)
Anthony Sausedo
Senior Class Vice President
14 October 2021
Position Assessment: During the month of September and the beginning of October, my main focus in my position was Homecoming. We began planning for this event during August, but did not create a schedule, hold class sign-ups, and order decorations until the week of September 13-17, which was a week before the first event of Homecoming, the Night Rally, on September 23. We began practice for the lip sync roughly 5 days before the actual event, holding practice every day until the day of. The seniors ended up taking first place in this competition, which was super exciting. We then worked on the poster, float, and window every day after that, enlisting the help of our classmates outside of the program. The seniors won almost every event, and got 2nd on the float, which I am extremely proud of. I also helped Naomi run the coronation by communicating with LJ regarding risers, organizing the risers on the football field, and handing out a box to one of the candidates. Overall, Homecoming was a huge success for our class specifically and for the entire school as a whole. During this time, our class also held our Cool Hand Luke’s Fundraiser, and I helped out by selling all of my tickets. I have also been working with my class officer team to distribute senior class merch. It arrived a couple weeks ago, and we immediately took inventory and held our first round of distribution for the pre-orders on September 30. After this, we held another day the week after that, and are now planning to distribute the remaining 7 orders to said individuals soon. After this, we plan to sell the remaining merch to anyone who forgot to pre-order. Outside of my position, I also helped ASB run the Back to School Dance by being in charge of the fencing. Although we were not provided enough fencing by the district to block off everything, we compromised and made the most with what we had. The dance itself ended up becoming a huge success. Looking ahead, I am planning on assisting with Dude be Nice, which will occur in November. After this, I will be in charge of the Talent Show alongside Avery, and the senior officers and I will begin planning Winterfest once we reach that point in time.
Standing Committee: I am in the Link Crew standing committee. I have been a leader in this organization since the end of my sophomore year. Before the year started, we held freshmen orientation, helping the new students get used to the campus and be ready for the school year. During the beginning of the year, I also assisted many of them in figuring out where their classes were.
Special Committee: During this time frame, I was in the coronation committee and fencing committee. In the coronation committee, I was mainly responsible for risers and boxes. Since I have experience in both of these things, I helped the newer students learn what to do so that they are prepared for future coronations. In the fencing committee, I was in charge alongside Kade. I enlisted many of my fellow classmates to help put them up to block off different areas around the dance, and we also improvised when we were not given enough fencing to block off every single area.
Mentorship Evaluation: With my mentorship partner Gideon, I have been giving him multiple tips throughout the year so far regarding his job and being a member of the class. We ate lunch together last Friday at the high school, where we got to get to know each other more. Since Derek is more knowledgeable about technology, he has been giving Gideon most of the help regarding his specific job criteria, but I have been helping out where I can.
Concerns: I am concerned with the knowledge of basic things within the class, mainly with the newest members. I had learned that one of the classes was not aware of their spirit box until very recently, which is worrying. Also, while creating posters for the dance, the decoration committee neglected to clean up their cups and brushes. Yes, we had not discussed that in class, but it seems like something that should be commonly known to do. I believe that in our rush to get back to a normal school year, we have pushed aside learning about many of the basic necessities of leadership.
Positive Comment: I would like to give a positive comment to Emma. Although she got nominated for Homecoming Court and was extremely busy with all of that, she still found time to always be there to help the senior class officers complete posters, decorations, and more. She did an amazing job of managing her time and balancing all of her many responsibilities, which is very impressive and deserves praise.
Change: I would like to see us read Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff more. I feel like we have not utilized the book as much as we could. Although it makes sense why we had zero time to read it during Homecoming, I feel as if now is a “dead period” for the class (we do still have stuff to plan, but it is less stressful than other months).
My Impact: I have changed the world today by staying genuine with everyone and not straying away from my true self or being rude to people for no reason. One of the biggest issues that high schoolers have is drama and being “fake” to one another, so I have been working to break that norm by staying honest and kind to people around me, as much as I can.

November/December ASB Report (December 9, 2021)
Anthony Sausedo
Senior Class Vice President
06 December 2021
Position Assessment: In these past 2 months, I have worked extensively with members of my officer team and other members of the class to complete various projects. For one, I completed the Blanket Drive with the fellow vice presidents. This fundraiser was completely new, created as an alternative to Coin Wars. To make this event successful, we first researched a location to donate the blankets, and discovered that the Stockton Homeless Shelter was in need of blankets and warmth for its residents. We also worked with Gabby M. and Emily to publicize the event as a competition between the upperclassmen and underclassmen. We also labeled jars and communicated with specific teachers in order to put the jars in their classrooms. This event went on for two weeks, from November 8 to November 19. We made $450, and plan on buying blankets and donating them this week. I also helped plan Dude Be Nice by publicizing the different events going on each day. With my class officers, we worked on getting the last of the class merchandise distributed. We received orders for everything and will pass it all out this week. We also planned Winterfest with the class, which will occur in January. We decided the theme, which will be opposites, and each of the competition components and dress up days. We also ordered sashes and basketballs, and will work to order supplies soon for our own competition. The senior class has also been preparing for the holiday tree decoration, and we have all of our decorations and are ready to put them together on Wednesday. The class as a whole wrapped every door at the school on Sunday, and I worked with my group to get our doors done successfully. Alongside Avery and Naomi, I helped edit all of the CASL write ups to get them ready for submission at the end of this semester. Looking ahead, I plan on being a big part of Winterfest, and later graduation, for the senior class.
Standing Committee: Right now, I’m still in the Link Crew committee. I have been a member of this organization since my sophomore year, helping out with 8th grade day, orientation, back to school night, and more. We have Study Buddy Night coming up next week, and I hope to be there to assist any students who need help preparing for final exams.
Special Committee: I was recently a leader in the Blanket Drive Committee, helping make this event a possibility by organizing the jars, publicizing everything, and counting all of the money we made. I was also in the Dude be Nice Committee, assisting the junior class with their event.
Mentorship Evaluation: With my mentorship partner Gideon, I have been assisting him with staying on track in this program through all of the recent chaos. I recently helped him set up his website for his portfolio and professional section. Also, Gideon was in my door decorating group, and he and I worked together with our other group members to be both efficient and organized. Our group had the most doors, and finished with time to spare and with very clean-looking doors.
Concerns: I am concerned with the mental health of many of my peers in this program. Talking with people, especially at the door-decorating, I noticed that a lot of members have been feeling stressed, anxious, or just simply sad. I think this is a combination of the stress of finals, Leadership, and the natural anxiety that being a high schooler brings. I hope that after this semester is over, the class can be more healthy going into the final stretch of the year.
Positive Comment: I would like to give a positive comment to the Sophomore class officers for being so productive and successful with their events through all of the stress that they have been going through. They had to plan Warm and Fuzzy Week, Winter formal, decorate a tree, prepare for Winterfest in January, and deal with finals all at the same time, and have done a tremendous job at it. Winter Formal in particular was so much fun, and they accommodated having to have it outside and made it a big success.
Change: I would like to see more time allocated in class for work days. I understand that many students simply ignore this time and don’t do any work, but a lot of members of Leadership are very busy and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to be productive.
My Impact: I have made an impact in my own family by spending time with both of my parents as much as possible, especially during the holidays. Oftentimes during divorce, the time spent in each house isn’t even, but I have made sure that I am fair. On campus, I have been a part of many of the recent events, namely the Blanket Drive and Dude Be Nice. I have tried to spread the word of these events to ensure that people feel the emotional impact of them.

January ASB Report (February 10, 2022)
Position Assessment: During the month of January within my position, my main focus was with Winterfest, an event that the senior officers were both in charge of and had to also be a part of the class competition going on. In terms of the overall event, we had to help create a coherent theme, order sashes and flowers for the candidates, create a schedule for the event, decorate basketballs for the winners, and help reveal Winterfest court. Doing all of these things took several weeks of planning and execution. Alongside this, the senior officers also decorated a pillar, designed a poster, decorated a window, and decorated a shopping cart for the class competition. Our theme was “Mathletes v Athletes” and we combined both of these ideas into all of our different aspects of the competition. The Seniors ended up taking 1st place in Winterfest, which was really exciting to see. We were all extremely busy during this time as well, so being able to balance our lives outside of leadership alongside the responsibilities inside the program was difficult, but we ended up executing everything very well. Looking ahead, the Seniors are now focusing on our class gift, graduation, and grad night. Personally, I am currently helping run elections for next year’s leadership class by publicizing the event and interviewing students this coming Saturday.
Standing Committee: My current standing committee is Link Crew. We have 8th grade welcome day coming up, but I am unsure of what is going to happen with that due to the ever-changing COVID guidelines and the fact that generally next year’s Link Crew Program runs this event. We will hopefully have another study buddy night in May for spring semester finals.
Special Committee: The Senior Officers and I were in charge of Winterfest, which was a huge event involving our entire program and the student body as well. We did the bulk of the planning and preparation for this event, including ordering supplies for our own decorations and helping reveal the court and the winners at the basketball game.
Mentorship Evaluation: With my mentorship partner Gideon, it has been hard to help him with job-specific situations, since Derek has much more knowledge in the technology world as they are partners, but I have been giving him assistance on general things within the program through these past few weeks.
Concerns: I am concerned about possible tensions that will arise (and have already been arising) with elections coming up. Everyone in this program is extremely competitive and is well-deserving of the jobs that they are applying for, but unfortunately not everyone will get what they want. I am hoping that members pitted against each other stay respectful towards one another through this difficult process for Naomi, Avery, Morty and I.
Positive Comment: I want to shout out the Junior Officers for stepping up big-time during Winterfest. Their shopping cart was amazing, and was honestly the best one I’ve ever seen. It’s so much fun to see everyone be creative with their decorations, but the Junior truly went above and beyond for this Winterfest.
Change: I would like to see us have more debriefs and more checks on our mental health within the program. We can simply discuss our highs and lows of the week, or even talk about how much progress we have made on events to keep each other accountable. I think it’s important for the class to be aware of the mindset and thoughts of each other so we can have a better understanding of what the program needs moving forward.
My Impact: I have made an impact on my basketball team by acting as a role model and mentor to the younger players and setting a good example for them to follow. I have always prided myself on staying level headed and working hard at every practice. Hopefully seeing the seniors displaying these qualities will cause the underclassmen to act the same way once we are gone. I am also actively making an impact on this year’s team by playing 110% every single game to help us get a good seeding in the section playoffs next week.

February/March ASB Report (April 14, 2022)
Anthony Sausedo
Senior Class Vice President
06 April 2022
Position Assessment: During the months of February and March, within my position, I have continued to work with my fellow class officers on planning the numerous graduation activities and events for the Senior Class. Some of these events entail Baccalaureate, Senior Grad Night at Disneyland, College Reveal Night, Sober Grad Night, Class Gift, Yearbook Distribution, Senior Class Meeting, and of course, Graduation Night. Besides these events, I have also been in charge of Gallery of the Arts alongside Avery, April, and Emma. We worked to get this event ready and ensured that the entire class helped set up, and it ended up being a great event. For College Reveal Night, we worked to update the 2020 poster and are currently working to move all the posters to the MUB. We also created and distributed all of the formal invitations for College Reveal, and Emma has been in contact for having specially-made cookies made for all the participants. For the Class Gift, we decided on having large cut-outs made for different events throughout the year to be placed at the front of the school. We held our Senior Class Meeting, working to inform the class on everything that is needed of them. We have had several meetings with Morty, Mrs. Ochoa, and Mrs. Vasche on these different events and are continuing to keep in contact with them. The officers have been looking for different students and teachers to partake in Baccalaureate and Graduation, including for name-readers, musical performances, and speeches. In the future, we look to continue working to make these end-of-the-year events memorable for the Class of 2022.
Standing Committee: My current standing committee is Link Crew, which has been my main standing committee throughout the entire year. Recently, I helped with 8th grade day by serving food to the kids for lunch while the new link crew members showed them around campus. In the future, we will be conducting Study Buddy Night, which I hope to help with.
Special Committee: Some special committees that I am involved in are the Fencing Committee and Student Appreciation Committee, which are both subgroups for the Challenge. For the Fencing Committee, I am heading it, with Kade and Nathan Curless as my trainees. We have already checked inventory and have more than enough caution tape, and Kade has begun communication with Mr. Ramirez regarding obtaining the actual fencing. Everyone is required to help set it up on the day of the dance. For Student Appreciation, I worked with the other members of the committee to create a fun lunchtime activity, involving otter pops and passing out leis to students that they can wear for the luau-themed dance.
Mentorship Evaluation: With my mentorship partner Gideon, I have been helping him create his website for portfolios, ASB reports, and mainly for the Mock Interview process, where we have to upload multiple documents and ensure that our websites are clean and organized. I have also given him some tips on the end-of-the-year video.
Concerns: I am concerned with the inevitable conflicts that will come with the craziness of end-of-the-year events, especially for the seniors. There is so much going on with AP Exams, sporting events, college tours, Leadership events, school work, and so much more that I am starting to feel incredibly overwhelmed and stressed. I worry that there will be conflict between groups and individuals over committing to one thing over another, when it becomes impossible to do everything and be everywhere.
Positive Comment: I would like to give a positive comment to Emma for working super hard to ensure that all of these senior activities are run smoothly. There is so much going on, and so many people are asking so much of her, but she has worked super hard to make it happen.
Change: I would like to see us switch up the seating chart at some point. We have been sitting in the same seats for this entire semester, and it would be fun to sit with new people for the end of the year. I know that it has been super busy lately and creating a new seating chart should not be at the top of the priority list, but we could switch randomly one day on our own so that everyone gets a new experience.
My Impact: I have tried to make a positive impact on my track team lately. Being one of about 10 seniors on the team out of 100 total members, there is a lot of responsibility on us to step up and be leaders and role models for the younger kids. I have done this through leading stretches, leading workouts, and simply encouraging other members to work hard and stay positive, even through times of frustration. Track can be perceived as strictly an individual sport, but having the support of teammates can be so impactful. This is why I try to help out anyone who needs advice on starting, running form, or other things. I have particularly enjoyed helping out the new hurdlers, since I have done it for four years and have a lot of experience in the event.

April/May ASB Report (May 19, 2022)
Anthony Sausedo
Senior Class Vice President
12 May 2022
Position Assessment: During the months of April and May, I have continued to focus on the end of the year Senior activities for the Class of 2022. Our class gift was recently delivered to the school, which is all of the yard signs for the various events throughout the school year, including Homecoming, Winterfest, and Dude Be Nice. The signs look really nice, and now we are looking to find clear boxes to organize and store the signs for the future classes to use and enjoy for their events. Besides the class gift, we also helped organize College Reveal Night through keeping the senior participants informed on deadlines and partnering with an RHS student to create graduation cookies for the seniors to enjoy. I also participated in the Grateful Graduate by writing and reading a letter to my mom showing my gratitude for her, as she was my 8th grade teacher. The officers have also worked on the Baccalaureate and Grad Nite, through working with Mrs. Ochoa and Mrs. Vasche on the respective events and doing things including creating a pamphlet, finding speakers, and providing muffins for everyone going to Disneyland the morning of the trip. Outside of my position, I also was a group leader of the Challenge, in charge of fencing alongside Kade. I worked to ensure we had enough caution tape, and Kade and I communicated with Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Rangel to make sure the fencing would arrive at the amphitheater the morning of the dance. Besides this, I was a part of the Student Appreciation Committee, and we created a Jeopardy tournament and passed out otter pops, cookies, and leis to the students to show our gratitude to them.
Standing Committee: During the months of April and May, I have continued to be a part of the Link Crew and Renaissance Standing Committee, helping out wherever I can for these groups at Ripon High School.
Special Committee: My special committee is the Challenge, with subgroups of this committee being Fencing and Student Appreciation. I’ve been in these committees since March, when we began preparations for the Challenge, but we really began to amp up the process of creating this event in the later weeks of April, where I worked with Kade to ensure fencing and caution tape was present at the dance the morning of the event, and I worked with Bryan and the other Student Appreciation members to give back to the student body through a Jeopardy tournament, otter pops, cookies, and leis.
Mentorship Evaluation: These past couple of months, I have not been able to talk with and help Gideon with his various tasks as much as I would have liked, partly because of the craziness of the end of the year but also because I simply was not on top of it.
Concerns: I am concerned with everyone’s motivation levels at this time of the year. The end of the year is supposed to be fun and exciting, but there is so much to do and everyone is essentially burning out right as we should be at our strongest.
Positive Comment: I would like to shout out Avery for stepping up big time during the Challenge and truly making sure the event ran smoothly. She has been the perfect example of a true leader this year, and deserves to be proud of what she has done through being such a positive role model and impactful member of this program.
Change: I would like to see the class end of the year on a more positive note, as the past couple of weeks there has been a lot of negativity and stress surrounding the classroom. We have worked so hard this entire school year, and deserve to celebrate our accomplishments and be proud of what we have done. I feel like we spend too much time worrying about our failures and what is ahead that we don’t enjoy what is in front of us.
My Impact: I have made a positive impact on my friends by trying my best to enjoy these last couple weeks of high school with them and making this time in our lives memorable for all of us. We are at the home stretch now, and I want to use this time in a way that is enjoyable for my friends and I. After working hard for four years straight, we deserve to spend this last month simply having fun.
