Finding My Inner Peace
Anthony Sausedo, Athletics Commissioner 2019-2020
The Initial Letter
Coming into this new school year, I feel so much more prepared and ready for what is to come. Now that I am a sophomore, I know a lot of what to expect, regarding schoolwork, sports, extracurricular activities, and the school culture. Because of this, I have gained an abundant amount of self-confidence and I am able to fix some of the mistakes I made my freshmen year. In terms of what I expect in Leadership, I truly want to improve on all of the activities we planned last year, and make them more enjoyable for everyone. I'd rather our class focus more on fixing existing events from previous years, rather than trying to shove in new things that sometimes feel incomplete. While adding activities is good in some senses, it also means we end up focusing on quantity more than quality. By intently researching past mistakes and possible improvements, I believe the Leadership class will feel more successful within the program, and those feelings will be reciprocated by the student body's positive feedback. In terms of my own personal intentions and goals for the year, I want to, clearly, succeed in my job description. Not only that, but I also want to have more time for myself, and I want to relieve myself of the constant negative emotions I feel, particularly stress. I feel I can accomplish this, especially considering my job title, Athletics Commissioner, is a lot less time consuming and jam-packed than other positions. I want to find my inner peace, and in turn, be a more positive, mindful person as a whole.
