Goals Part 2
I want to be successful in my job description as Athletics Commissioner, and help make Powderpuff and Dodgeball great events for the student body.
For the most part, I achieved this goal. I did well as an Athletics Commissioner, and was a big part in making Powderpuff a success. However, due to the shutting down of our school, Dodgeball was cancelled. We had worked really hard on making it a great event, but we got unlucky. Aside from that, I feel satisfied with my job performance this year, and I am excited to do it again next school year.
I want to continue growing connections with my peers inside and outside of Leadership.
I definitely achieved this goal, 100%. First of all, I made so many new friends this year who I would have never expected to meet. It just kind of happens spontaneously, but I'm so glad it did. I also strengthened my pre-existing bonds from last year. Honestly, the sophomore class has grown so much closer this year, and it's starting to feel like a big family. I'm super excited for the many more people that I will meet in the upcoming years.
I want to make it to state in either basketball or track.
In terms of basketball, I definitely improved this year compared to last year. I feel a lot more athletic, and I am way more confident in myself. My passing and driving have both improved a ton. However, track season got cut short due to the school shutting down. I had a strong start to the year though, and was heading towards a possible Masters appearance, which brings me one step closer to state either Junior or Senior year. I feel confident that I can make it someday, even with this year's setback.
I want to attend Stanford University.
My grades this year have been pretty much what I expected, which is good; I've maintained all A's throughout both semesters. This brings me even closer to possibly being accepted into Stanford. Also, I've improved on my PSAT, getting a 1330 in the fall and possibly even higher in the spring. I feel confident in myself, as long as I study a lot for the SAT and ACT and keep up my extracurricular activity. It's a stretch, but I'm feeling more and more sure that it will happen.
I want to stay financially stable throughout my adult life.
Although it's hard to make strides towards this kind of goal as a high school sophomore, I still feel like I've gotten closer to it. This year, I've figured out what I want to be when I grow up, pending that interest stays with me or not. I am leaning a lot towards being an engineer, which is something that works for me because math is my strongest subject. I was going to learn more about engineering in my Mock Interview, but sadly it got cancelled. I hope that I have a chance to learn more about this occupation in the future.
I want to be happy in my future workplace.
This, again, is something that I can't really be making strides towards, but it is something I still think about wanting to have. With my mom as a great example, I truly want to be happy wherever I work, because that will lead to more efficient work and better pay. Overall, happiness will be my top priority as an adult.
