Quote - Part 2
"Never give up on something you really want. It's difficult to wait, but more difficult to regret." -Unknown
This quote speaks to me personally, as it is a great representation of who I am and the struggles that I have been through. As a naturally ambitious person, I regularly aspire to achieve highly challenging or seemingly impossible tasks, in academics and sports. I often dream about going to Stanford, or winning a section title in basketball, or making it to the state meet in track. All of these things are possible, but will take a lot of hard work and time to achieve. I want to pursue them, but I need to have grit and the ability to be patient as well. Most of the things that I regret are things that I stopped doing or never tried to do, because I was scared or didn't have the motivation to try it. Since I am passionate about sports and school, I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. This mindset is super important to student leaders and the future that lies ahead of all of us. Leaders need motivation, not just for short term goals (events they are planning, etc) but also long term. Leaders need to stay patient on the path to success, as we will be the ones reaching for the stars. Being able to reflect on yourself and fix what needs improvement is crucial to growth. To be able to be the best version of myself, I must always analyze what I do good, and what I do bad. For instance, I know I am a procrastinator, so I need to work on getting my work done more efficiently. Overall, this quote is super relatable to me and I will live by it in order to motivate myself more. I have high expectations for myself, and want to achieve great things; it's a matter of if I have the patience and motivation to do it.
