What I Like Best About Being a Member of Leadership
Throughout my two years in Leadership so far, I have made so many memories that I will never forget. One of those specific memories was during Core Camp over the summer of 2019. During the mid-day rally, we were playing a game where you spin around in circles around a pool noodle then run around cones to the other side of the stage. Lydia was playing the game, and after spinning around the noodle, she got really dizzy and wasn't able to run in a straight line. She ended up tripping and almost falling off the stage without even knowing that it happened. I loved this memory so much because I laughed hysterically after it happened, and then Naomi sent me a TikTok that was the perfect representation of it and I laughed even harder.
My second memory that I am discussing today was the entirety of the Homecoming night rally back in September. It was honestly one of the best experiences that I've had at Ripon High, and was a night to remember. On one hand, the Sophomores won the lip-sync battle and got second place in spirit, which gave us great motivation to keep competing throughout Homecoming. Also, it was the first time where the sophomore class truly came together as a family to show spirit and pride. I think that the night rally was a huge stepping stone for us to finally unite as a class.
My last Leadership memory is one that I remember for being ridiculously bad, but also hysterical at the same time. It was around the same time last year, when the freshmen reps were conducting Match-o-matics. We had the great idea of selling each person's result for only $1. Although people were happy about the cheap price, we ended up losing exactly $17 throughout the whole thing. It's honestly so funny to me because of how embarrassing it was to actually lose money on a fundraiser. The good thing is that we learned from that mistake and have done so much better this year on making money.
